LATE: The Inmates are Running the Asylum Ch 1 -2

Reference Information:

Title: The Inmates are Running the Asylum
Author: Alan Cooper

Summary:
In the first chapter, the author discusses how computers are taking over other products and it is not always a convenient thing. He describes several situations such as cameras and alarm clocks merging with computers and as a result the item becomes less functional. The second chapter begins by describing cognitive friction. Cognitive friction is the resistance encountered by a human intellect when it engages with a complex system of rules that change as the problem changes. The rest of the chapter is spend discussing design.
Discussion:
This read was very interesting, but after all the readings in CHI and capstone the information is beginning to repeat itself. I think the books similar to this were read after this book I would like this one better instead of the other way around. His examples in chapter one were very interesting though.
