LATE: The Mythical Man-Month Ch 7 - 9

Reference Information:

Title: The Mythical Man-Month
Author: Fredrick P. Brooks, JR.

Summary:
In chapter 7, the author discusses how the tower of babel fell and the reasons why. The reasons were lack of communication and organization. The author then discusses how teams should communicate and organize for success.  In chapter 8, the author discusses several different sets of data used in order to determine what the best estimate of time taken to program. Most data agrees that there is not a linear correlation between lines of code and time. It turns out that more lines per program means much more time. The final chapter talks about the importance of maintaining program space. The author also talks about means of controlling the size of a program.

Discussion:
I really enjoyed the first chapter in this set. The comparison of programming to the tower of babel was thoroughly entertaining. The second chapter was not nearly as entertaining and seemed like a list of data that was completely unnecessary. The information was helpful but the presentation of every data set was boring. The last chapter may have been boring as well, but it seemed way more relevant and important so it was understandable.
